Napoleon Dynamite (2004)

I finally watched Napoleon Dynamite (2004) today, wow what a ride! =) Roger Ebert was a bit of a douche giving the film one-and-a-half stars, but no one is perfect I guess =) I have seen Napoleon’s dance before on youtube but I had no idea this film was so good. Jon Gries had a fun role in this one I remember him mostly from ‘The Pretender’ series.

It Follows (2014), The Neon Demon (2016)

Today I watched ‘The Neon Demon’ (2016) and ‘It Follows’ (2014),  ‘The Neon Demon‘ with Elle Fanning is a stylish film by the ‘Driver’ director Nicolas Winding Refn and it was quite good nut  ‘It Follows’  – WAS AWESOME! If you haven’t seen the film don’t watch the trailer  don’t read about it JUST WATCH IT! (blame me afterwards if you want, you won’t, if you will I don’t care 🙂 ) it is a great film if you like Twin Peaks series I think you will like this one too.

Some thoughts about ‘Into the Woods’ (2014) it was definitely NOT ‘The Sound of Music’ or ‘Moulin Rouge!’ =)

Yeah I watched this monstrosity of a musical film over a last four days, ‘cos it is sure as fuck impossible to watch in one sitting. So many great actors and it would have been quite alright but the singing parts were really redundant, I was watching the film sometimes forgetting there is a singing coming and then the horrible singing comes completely ruining the immersion, and the stuff they were singing were not even well written songs but just some story telling that might be sometimes rhymed but done in a poor manner.
Meryl Streep was nominated for an Academy Award (Best Supporting Actress) for this… crap JESUS WEPT! One of her worst roles ever.. EVER!

Johnny Depp howling to the moon was the best part of the film unfortunately it lasted a couple of seconds and the film is two hours…

Without the singing the film would have been an hour and a half fantasy film but they had to go the unnecessary extra mile to make it a musical, this is nothing like ‘The Sound of Music’ (1965) or ‘Moulin Rouge!’ (2001) both really good films, not even Mamma Mia! (2008) where singing might have been weird at times like Mr Bond’s (Pierce Brosnan) parts but it was watchable and Amanda Seyfried can sing.. and she is really pretty, but that is another story =)
‘Into the Woods’? Nah bro I can’t imagine anyone seriously thinking this is a good musical or calling it their favorite.
None of the actors had pleasant singing voice and it sounded so forced.
In the end I just wished the giant killed or eaten everyone that would have been cool =) and since I don’t want to spoil the ending for ya: maybe the giant did eat everyone maybe she didn’t =) fuck it: she didn’t – the film was more shit than ‘Suicide Squad’.

Verdict: the film was a torture (and not in a good ol’ s&m way =) )

Watched ‘Suicide Squad’

Watched ‘Suicide Squad’ – DO NOT PAY TO SEE THIS FILM JUST DOWNLOAD IT. Yes put on your pirate hat and save your money.
Why was Joker on the posters?? He was useless. Heath Ledger in ‘Dark Knight’ was a dark character overshadowed even Batman and Jared Leto is more parody of a parody of an animated series kind of Joker, really disappointing.
The story is sooooo shit, well it is like ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ I would not watch this again even if I got paid for it. Unfunny and just not fun. The music was out of place ALL the time.
Apart from Harley Quinn being in the film and nice fire effects there were no redeeming qualities.
Superhero films should stop with saving the world stories, there is nothing wrong with scaling it down a notch.
This film should have been R rated and they made it PG-13…. there is nothing I hate more than PG-13.

Marketing for the film was great but the film is no good.
Just sayin’…

Fargo season two – unoriginal attempt to become classic

It is trying too hard to become an instant classic and it fails.
The world and acting looks staged, the clever lines sounds are off and not clever.
The timing is wrong all over the place.
The funny awkwardness from the film or season one is completely lost in season two.
The typewriter salesman’s character, or a version of it is done already in the film and season one (William H. Macy and Martin Freeman), why beat the dead horse the third time?
And the dialect is laughable, it might be suitable for theater but seriously stop it 🙂 the evolution of it should have stopped with season one.

It might get better but the first two episodes are stale, uninspired and the cast or ‘This is a true story’ lie can’t save it.
Putting different texture on the same characters and trying to sell it again with a weak story seems cheap.

End credits are two minutes so I guess the creators have big expectations for this season.
The ratings are better only because of cast, and Jesse Plemons did some good acting

but everything else is not that good.

“universal acclaim” everyone is talking is a hype, those critics haven’t seen the show.

To sum up: unoriginal, if canceled not many tears will be cried.

Great Setting – SilencioDroid [Wings3D]

Something new I’ve been working in Wings3D. I want to make a big world for my SilencioDroid to explore.

PC Gaming: Defense Grid, Sol Survivor, Sanctum, Infested Planet, Grid2, Starcraft 2, Modern Warfare, Dungeon Keeper 2

Some PC games I recommend:

First of all let’s go Tower Defense:

Defense Grid The Awakening – the best quality TD, that requires still to get good score/gold.

Sol Survivor – different from DG starts slow but gets progressively difficult in later maps, there is  air support, mines, lasers,  etc. This game has no fast forward but you have to try survival to understand why. Beautiful music.

Sanctum – has micromanagement, you play in first person once the new wave starts and build and upgrade when it is finished.

Grid2 a great racing, after I was done with Dirt 3 I was looking for a new racing one.

Trackmania Canyon – beautiful, trackmania is about racing and precision.

Starcraft 2, I am wondering why Blizzard does not make a full length CGI StarCraft movie, it is such a great game, I loved the first one (1998), and the second one is a gorgeous evolution to 3D.

Modern Warfare I have finished 1, 2, 3 all amazing FPS missions where you save people, good stuff, I have tried Battlefield 3 but for me it is not the same as COD MW series.

Dungeon Keeper 2, classic rts that also runs perfectly even on my little 1,6 Gz laptop.

… and finally:

Infested Planet – real-time tactics – WOW- what looked like a small strategy game became my favorite, I like the look of it, the simplicity of design and that it is not easy, it is so much fun and so satisfying to win=) I highly recommend to try if you like real-time games.
